About the Artist - Birute Paukstyte

Birute is a freelance photographer and digital artist based in London.
Born and raised in a small post-soviet Eastern European town. Surrounded by its beautiful and raw nature and, at the same time, highly restricted from expressing its creative nature physically and emotionally, she grew up feeling imprisoned and isolated mentally from the rest of the world.

Birute's big escape began with leaving her hometown to study photography and visual arts, which allowed him to start expressing his vision through art.

During the studies, Birute developed an eye for subtle and unusual details in daily life and became passionate about creating odd and quirky objects and subjects that allowed my unconscious mind to express itself.

Birute's creative process involves experimenting with original photography work, digitally transforming raw images into self-expression through colours, distorted and exaggerated shapes and figures that focus on underlying emotions and feelings rather than what the object or subject looks like. Their work often explores their personal experiences, and it's become his native language in expressing himself through the art.
